Overview
While vacationing with his wife at an exclusive island resort, struggling novelist James Foster befriends a mysterious couple who lure him beyond the resort's boundaries. After a tragic accident, James discovers the country's bizarre justice system, where the wealthy can avoid execution by paying for the creation of a cloned double to die in their place. Drawn deeper into a world of violence, excess, and moral decay, he gradually loses his grip on reality.
