Overview
Set against a mythological backdrop, Mahakali follows the powerful conflict between the forces of good and evil. Akshaye Khanna plays Shukracharya, the guru of the Asuras, who seeks to lead the Asuras back to victory and threatens humanity. Bhoomi Shetty portrays Mahakali, a powerful divine figure who rises to confront this threat. The film is set partly against the backdrop of Bengal and explores mythology, power, resistance and female empowerment.
