Overview
After the sudden death of his older brother, Lee Chandler, a withdrawn janitor living in Boston, returns to his hometown of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. There, he learns that he has been appointed the legal guardian of his teenage nephew, Patrick. As Lee struggles with overwhelming grief and painful memories of a devastating personal tragedy, he must decide whether he can face his past and embrace an unexpected future.
