Overview
Shankar Roy Chowdhury, a young man from rural Bengal, dreams of escaping his limited circumstances and finding adventure. He travels to Africa, where he encounters the explorer Diego Alvarez and becomes involved in a dangerous search for legendary gold and diamond mines near the fabled Mountain of the Moon. His journey exposes him to wild animals, hostile terrain, adventure, danger and the mysteries of the African wilderness.
