"Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran" tells the story of India's secret nuclear tests in Pokhran in 1998. The movie focuses on Ashwat Raina, an IAS officer who proposes the idea of nuclear testing in 1995 as a response to China's nuclear program. When the initial attempt fails and is exposed, Ashwat is made a scapegoat. He gets a second chance in 1998 and leads a team to Pokhran to successfully conduct the tests, all while evading detection by the US and local spies.
