Overview
Set in rural Australia around 1900, the series follows the fiercely independent Sybylla Melvyn, a young woman determined to become a writer despite the social expectations that she should marry. As she pursues her creative ambitions, she must choose between love and the freedom to shape her own future. The series is based on Miles Franklin's classic 1901 novel.
