Govinda was born on December 21, 1963, in Mumbai, in a family which had close ties to the film industry. His father, Arun Kumar Ahuja, was in films and his mother Nirmala Devi was a singer and actress. Despite belonging to a film family, Govinda had a tough start. After finishing his commerce degree, he faced many rejections. Eventually, he was given a break in Ilzaam (1986), which started his career. The Rise of a Superstar. Govinda's lively performances won the audience over right from the start His skill at combining action, romance, and comedy made him popular with directors and viewers alike.
