Deepika Padukone is a role model in addition to being a star.
We can all agree that Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is a true sparkling star. However, she is much more than just a famous person. Indeed, she is a woman with a really intriguing personality!
Initially, Deepika Padukone came from modest origins. She started out as a badminton player but has grown into one of the world's most influential figures.
The Girl Next Door Who Became a Superstar.
Deepika comes from Denmark and raised in bangalore, upbringing was very disciplined at home where humility was held in high regard. For a while, she seemed set to emulate her father, Prakash Padukone, a national badminton champion. She even became India’s top junior badminton player! But life had other plans.
At the age of 17, she began her career in modeling and acting. Remember her debut in Om Shanti Om? That wasn’t just a movie – it was the birth of a star. Overnight, she became the girl everyone was talking about.
The Roles That Defined Her.
Deepika didn’t just act – she became her characters. Think about it.
Her character was bold and carefree, making the character eye-opener for us, Cocktail role as Veronica was huge. But, there was a vulnerability lying underneath that made us all love her all over again.
Who else could make a film about constipation so lovable but Piku in Piku. Seeing her with Amitabh Bachchan was like seeing a real father and daughter.
The character of Rani Padmavati had a different impact on the audience. She played her role with much grace and power.
And don’t forget her Hollywood debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. She was not just a part of the movie, but she managed to stand up with Vin Diesel.
The Woman Behind the Roles.
Deepika is unique not only by her great talent but also by her courage to be herself. In 2015, she did something which not many celebs do – she spoke of her battle with depression. When mental health problems are still taboo in India, she stood up and said, “It’s okay to not be okay.”
She didn’t stop there. She established this organization to promote awareness of mental health issues. She launched it with 82°E, the self-care brand that joined my wellness journey.
Love, Life, and Lessons.
It is a movie with a Bollywood inspired love story of Ranveer Singh and Deepika. They were working together as co-stars for the movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela when they first met. The whole Bollywood industry went crazy over their dreamy wedding which took place in 2018. I find it very beautiful that they support each other professionally and personally.
Why We Admire Her.
She takes risks. The actress has performed bold roles in movies like Pathaan and Chhaapak where she played an acid-attack survivor's role.
She’s unapologetically herself. She is open about her mental health and other things, like launching her own label and so on.
She balances glamour with substance. Red carpets? Magazine covers? Check. She talks about anxiety and self-care with the same ease as her other conversations.
