Can you imagine? A small village in Nepal called Baisi was where our legend started out as a small boy singing. Imagine this – a young Udit steps onto Mumbai soil in the late seventies with nothing else but a good voice and big dreams.

Those early years? Tough as nails! He did not give up on his dreams and continued to work on his singing even after facing rejection after rejection. In those earlier days, he got rejected an amazing 14 times. He did odd jobs like washing plates and sang in the chorus. And get this - his first solo song paid him just 150!
