Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht was born on 5 June 1972 in a Rajput family of Uttarakhand Pauri Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. Due to his strong spirituality, he left his family life. At Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur, he was taught by Mahant Avaidyanath.

Transformation into Yogi Adityanath.

He was given initiation into the Hindu monastic Nath order under Mahant Avaidyanath.  After Mahant Avaidyanath's death in 2014, he became Mahant of Gorakhnath Math. During this period, he became known under the name Yogi Adityanath for his social work and speeches.

Political Entry and Rise.

Yogi Adityanath won the Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat in 1998 and entered politics when he was only26years old. Thus, he became one of the youngest MPs ever. He has served as an MP from 1998 to 2017 after winning five elections. Currently, he is UP CM.

Tenure as Chief Minister.

On March19,2017, Yogi Adityanath was appointed as the 21st Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, which is the most populated state of India. He took several initiatives during his tenure including.

The Yogi Adityanath government set up anti-Romeo squads and launched encounters against criminals to maintain law and order in UP.

Initiating smart cities and expressway projects as an economic development project.

The government will pay for the celebrations taking place in Ayodhya on Diwali and the TV coverage of those celebrations.

The state is implementing schemes like Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi which benefit poor and farmers.
